We both chose the Baked Camembert and Beef Fillet Medallions. Everything was so delicious, we would choose the same again. The camembert was baked in a phyllo pastry parcel and was sublime. I’ve been trying to replicate it myself ever since, but haven’t got it quite so perfect. I’ll let you know when I discover the secret!

It was a week day and there was only one other couple on the boat, so we had the best seating and very personal service. The lunch was a real treat for the price and the 2 hour cruise made it very special.

I’d love to try their Decadent Dinner Cruise, which must be a stunning visual experience at night with all the lights.

The courses were paired with wines from Durbanville Hills.

Remembering all the goodies from the lovely afternoon, I nearly forgot something! You also receive a welcoming glass of bubbly on arrival.

A memorable experience on this excursion (which unfortunately I can’t promise you every time!) was the sighting of a humpback whale. It was the closest I’ve seen a whale in a long time and very special. Until I researched it recently, I wasn’t sure how to tell the difference between the southern right whale and the humpback whale. The easiest way to tell when they’re in the water and at a distance is the dorsal fin on the humpback whale. The southern right whale has no dorsal fin. These two whale species are the most commonly sighted around the South African coast. This Australian website is a good reference.
